Gila (a pseudonym), 45, is the mother of two reserve soldiers who served in Lebanon during the Second War in Lebanon, a soldier doing his compulsory service in the Air Force and a 10-year-old boy. Gila called shortly before the end of the fighting and told us that the younger of her two sons on reserve duty was part of an incident in which nine soldiers from the same unit were killed and 25 were injured. Only seven soldiers, including her son, survived the incident without injury. Gila’s son lost his best friend. Aug 11, 2006 |
