Trauma resiliency trainings for Israel’s first responders

For many years now NATAL’s Community Outreach team has been working with first responders such as paramedics, police, firefighters, and ZAKA, emergency room nurses and doctors to help decrease the chances of secondary trauma, professional burnout, and compassion fatigue. These are people who are regularly exposed to highly traumatic scenarios and danger, and NATAL recognizes a deep need to support them in order to ensure their continued functioning and professional longevity. Through in-depth and profession specific trainings, NATAL helps build resiliency by addressing their internal coping techniques, effective communication, teamwork and mutual support as well as the identification of trauma symptoms and the need for self-care. In the last 3 years, NATAL has trained over 8,000 first responders in Israel.

Although on a regular basis these people are faced with the emergencies of daily life, they are the same people who we depend upon for support during national emergencies such as open conflict and terror attacks. For this reason NATAL believes that it is imperitive to provide them with its support.
